China intends to start the commercialization of 6G technology by 2030 and hopes to standardize 6G technology by 2025. Wang Zhikin, vice president of the China Academy of Information and leader of China’s 6G promotion team,

stated that China started using 6G technology in experiments last year and is presently looking into the technical solutions and system architecture for 6G by 2023.

Wang stated Regarding the development of 6G, all nations are still in the early stages of technical research, and there isn’t yet a single standard for constructing critical technologies and 6G networks.

Wang states that new applications have been revealed by 6G research, such as the merging of artificial intelligence and communication, the integration of communication and sensitivity, and the widespread use of the Internet of Things based on integrated satellites and local mobile.

The Deputy Minister of MIIT, Zhang Yunming, has recently stressed the importance of the nation building a strong base for 6G applications in the field of wireless technology in order to accelerate integrated development with new technologies like 5G, XR, and robotics for the coming generation. building a solid base for applications utilizing 6G.

The Chinese government has allotted spectrum in the 6 gigahertz frequency band for 5G and 6G services, according to a June announcement from the nation’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Given its benefits in terms of coverage and capacity, the ministry stressed that the 6 gigahertz spectrum, which is in the mid-band and has significant bandwidth and high quality, is especially appropriate for the deployment of 5G systems or 6G preparations.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the European industry’s 6G Smart Network and Services Industry Association (6G-IA) and China’s IMT-2030 (6G) Promotion Group last year, with the aim of promoting 6G R&D and international collaboration. Networks and services for the future generation are the focus of this collaboration’s research.

Both organizations have declared plans to improve cooperation on 6G technology and systems as per the terms of the agreement.

The nation’s 6G Promotion Group aims to integrate Chinese industry and academic research to advance 6G in various domains, covering not only technological innovations but also social and economic effects.
