Delhi, New: According to a study by the clean energy research and communication company Mercom Capital, Adani Green Energy is regarded as the world’s top solar developer on a major scale. According to a press release from Mercom Capital, the report’s data covers the months of July 2022 through June 2023. Developers with projects in at least two countries were taken into consideration for the ranking, which was established based on predetermined criteria.

Considering operational, under-construction, and recognized (PPA-contracted) projects, TotalEnergies in France emerged as the world’s leading solar PV (Photovoltaic System) developer with a total capacity of 41.3 gigawatts.
With 18.1 gigawatts, Adani Green Energy takes second place, ahead of Canada’s Brookfield Renewable Partners with 18 gigawatts.”
The ranking table presents the Top 10 Global Solar PV Developers based on recognized (PPA-contracted), operational, and under-construction projects.

Through this project, the Adani Group hopes to increase India’s capacity for producing green energy and is in line with the promises made during the COP26 summit, particularly the bold five-part ‘Panchamrit’ pledge. By 2030, this commitment seeks to reduce emissions by one billion tons, attain 500 gigawatts of non-fossil electricity capacity, and produce half of all energy needs from renewable sources.
In order to support the international climate action goals, India also intends to step up the reduction of emissions from domestic production by up to 45% and eventually reach net-zero emissions by 2070.
