Ishan Kishan, the standout batsman and wicketkeeper for the Indian team, has been absent for nearly two months. Ishaan’s future plans are currently unknown to the BCCI and the Jharkhand Cricket Association (JCA). Meanwhile, there has been significant news regarding Ishaan. He was spotted working out in Baroda.
In Team India, Ishan Kishan is a star wicketkeeper.
Ishan Kishan, a batsman, is not currently playing for the Indian team. November 2023 saw him participate in the Twenty20 series versus Australia. Following this, Ishaan’s future plans remained unknown to the team management and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Ishaan has since been located, though. At Kiran More Academy in Baroda, Ishaan is reportedly rehearsing alongside Krunal and Hardik Pandya. This information was reported by Cricbuzz. Indian Premier League (IPL) captain Hardik leads the Mumbai Indians. On this team, Ishaan is a player too.
The cricket player Ishaan himself has taken a hiatus.
Ishan Kishan is expected to play directly in the IPL going forward in this scenario. But he’s not disclosed any information to anyone about this. Regarding Ishaan, neither coach Rahul Dravid nor the Indian team management have any knowledge of him.
Dravid revealed at the press conference that Ishaan has taken a hiatus from cricket when he was recently questioned about the player. Regarding Ishaan’s return, he stated that everything is dependent on him. Ishaan wishes to play domestic cricket in order to rejoin the team, the coach had previously stated.
Ishaan isn’t even watching the cricket in India.
However, Ishaan, a player for Jharkhand, was not visible in the team during the current Ranji Trophy competition. The Jharkhand Cricket Association (JCA) and BCCI are unaware of Ishaan’s future plans in this scenario. Additionally, Ishaan has not disclosed to JCA whether or not he plans to play domestic cricket.
That being said, Ishaan has now been sighted in Baroda. He has also consistently declined to represent Jharkhand in domestic cricket. He does not communicate with the Indian team management either. If sources are to be trusted in this case, BCCI is not fond of Ishaan’s attitude.
BCCI is free to reject the agreement.
Ishan Kishan’s central contract might also be impacted in that case. Given his extended absence from the Indian team, BCCI may also think about terminating his contract. Additionally, domestic cricket is not given enough consideration. As of right now, Ishaan falls under the C category of the Central Contract. He receives one crore rupees a year in exchange.
Kishan reportedly made the most of his opportunities in all formats, particularly in ODIs and T20Is, but was unhappy and frustrated about being benched. Furthermore, since the ODI World Cup last year, the attacking left-handed opening batter had requested and been denied a break from the BCCI selectors and team management.
Kishan was included in the T20I squad for the home series against Australia, in contrast to the majority of the other World Cup players. Despite being rested from the previous two games, he was still a member of the team. The 25-year-old then asked to be excused from the South Africa tour’s white-ball leg, but his request was denied.
Things got out of control when he was selected for the Test team but had a sneaking suspicion that KL Rahul would beat him for a position in the starting eleven as a specialist keeper. He gave the BCCI no choice but to remove him from the Test squad and designate KS Bharat as the backup keeper after citing mental exhaustion and family obligations.
However, Kishan surprised the Indian team management and BCCI by traveling to Dubai and partying during the break rather than returning home to spend time with his family. He claimed to be mentally exhausted from his constant travels and his desire to spend time with his family at home when he addressed the team management. Rather than waiting, he decided to go to Dubai, where he was observed having fun. A report cited an informed source on the events.
