India Makes Plans

For the Indian market, the 2024 Yamaha TMAX 560 launch is very important. Reports of seeing the Yamaha TMAX 560 in India for testing, completely camouflaged and wearing a temporary red Karnataka state registration plate, have given rise to claims. Recent photos have sparked a lot of speculation regarding Yamaha’s plans to release the TMAX in the Indian market.

This possibility becomes important when you look at the Indian market for high-end, high-capacity scooters. The 2022 60 Duke and 2022 125 Duke, two 278.2cc scooters from KTM, are at one extreme of the price range; they retail for about INR 3.3 lakhs (ex-showroom). The BMW C400GT, on the other hand, has a 350cc single-cylinder engine and costs a substantial INR ex-showroom.

The TMAX560, a high-performance, sporty scooter that costs about INR 8 lakhs, is a potential entry point for Yamaha into the market. The newly discovered TMAX560 appears to be positioned as a competitor in this market.

The 2024 Yamaha TMAX 560 Tech Max has new colors for the Malaysian market this year, and it is recommended to retail for RM74,998. The new color schemes are Tech Black and Dark Magma, and the price is the same as before—road tax, insurance, and registration are not included.

With every TMax Tech Max purchase, a complimentary disc lock valued at RM100 is included, and there is a two-year or 20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects. With three display modes and a 7-inch TFT-LCD screen, the TMax Tech Max comes equipped with a Garmin navigation display as standard. The first month’s subscription costs RM27.

The rear wheel is powered by an automatic transmission and belt drive system from a two-cylinder DOHC, 560 cc engine that produces 47.6 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 55.7 Nm of torque at 5,250 rpm. With all of Yamaha’s most recent scooter technology, the TMax Tech Max lives up to its name.

In addition to the previously mentioned 7-inch TFT-LCD on-screen navigation, this also includes heated seat, heated grips, an electric screen, and cruise control. For better rider and passenger ergonomics, the wide floorboards and long seat are designed, and the rider’s back rest can be adjusted by 30 mm forward and backward.

All of the lighting is LED, including the new tail light that forms a “T” when illuminated and the projector LED headlights. Additional riding conveniences include locking the center stand, under-seat storage, smart key access for starting, and fuel filler cap.

Two power modes and traction control are included with the TMax Tech Max, and two-channel ABS is standard. With 15 liters of fuel in the tank, the Tech Max weighs 220 kg, and the seat height is 800 mm.
