That wouldn’t be unusual. The Mumbai Indian captain Hardik Pandya, spoke up about Rohit Sharma’s leadership.

In IPL 2024, all-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead the Mumbai Indian captain instead of captain Rohit Sharma for the first time in ten seasons.

Hardik Pandya has been the target of both Rohit Sharma and Mumbai Indian captain supporters ever since it was revealed that he would take over as the Mumbai Indian captain. Some Mumbai Indians players, including Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah, were thought to be upset by the announcement, which caused a stir in the community. Additionally, Rohit’s wife fueled the fire with her occasional comments on social media, such as her criticism of Mumbai Indians coach Mark Boucher’s recent remarks regarding the replacement process.

Hardik Pandya, the new Mumbai Indian captain the leading the team into a new era, succeeding Rohit Sharma. After leading the team to five titles, Rohit made the MI IPL franchise one of the most successful in its history.

Mumbai Indian captain

Since 2013, Rohit has led MI in every season until 2023. He was named captain in 2013.

Pandya was acquired by MI in an all-cash deal prior to the IPL 2024 auction last December, and the all-round player was then named Mumbai Indian captain of the team by Gujarat Titans.

Would it be weird if Pandya and Rohit switched places considering how much of Pandya’s international and IPL career he has spent under his captaincy?

Nothing will be different about it. He’ll be there for me no matter what. Pandya stated on Monday during a pre-season media conference in Mumbai Indian captain. “Under his leadership, this team has accomplished its goals; my only task now is to carry it forward.” It won’t seem odd. He will be my pillar of support.

We honor the supporters, but our priorities are the game and the tasks at hand. When questioned about the fans’ ire over Rohit’s removal, he responded, “I concentrate on things that I can control.” Fans are free to hold any opinion they choose, and I respect that.

“Yes and no,” Pandya responded when asked if he had spoken with Rohit. He travels and plays all the time. It has been several months since our last encounter. We’ll definitely talk when he gets back.

Pandya joined MI in the IPL prior to the 2022 season, having left the Gujarat Titans. In his first season, he famously guided GT to their first championship, and the following year, he led them to another final.

‘My life took a radical turn after I made my Mumbai Indian captain debut. Returning home is an odd feeling, Pandya remarked. “I’m really looking forward to this season.

Pandya recently made his competitive cricket comeback by taking part in the Dwayne Bravo T20 Cup, following a serious injury he sustained during the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup.

“I trained for over a year for the World Cup,” Pandya stated in an interview. During the game, there was an odd injury. It was reported to be a 25-day injury, meaning I would be out of commission for the remainder of the World Cup. I nevertheless pushed. I promised management I would return in five days. My buttocks received three injections. My buttocks were so swollen that I had to bleed. I wanted to offer everything.

When asked again whether playing under Sharma as a player will be awkward, Pandya reassured that there won’t be any bad feelings.

There will be no misunderstanding. The captain of India is still him, Rohit. He has experience achieving what this team has accomplished. I’m just bringing it up to date. Rohit has been my captain for all of my cricket matches with MI, so I know he will always be there to support me, the player continued.
